Ingredients
- 1 lb large sea scallops, all natural
- 1 tbsp butter, organic preferred
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, organic preferred
- 1/4 tsp salt, such as Himalayan pink salt
- 1/4 black pepper, freshly ground
- 1/2 lemon juice, optional
- 1/2 minced garlic, optional
Instructions
- Soak the scallops in a large bowl with plenty of cold water for about 30 minutes.
- Add the salt and pepper to a small dish and mix well.
- Rinse scallops a couple of times and then pat dry with a paper towel.
- Turn the heat to medium-high and heat a hard anodized fry pan for 2 minutes. Add the 1 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp olive oil, as well as the 1/2 tbsp freshly minced garlic if you prefer a garlicky flavor.
- Lay the scallops in the pan, sprinkle the salt/pepper on the top evenly. Let it cook for about 2 minutes and then flip the scallops.
- Flip the scallops and repeat - sprinkle the salt and pepper and let them cook for another 2 minutes.
- Continue to flip the scallops every 30 seconds or so until they become firm and a golden crust forms on both ends.
- All done. Turn off the heat. Place the scallop on a plate and sprinkle with freshly squeezed lemon juice.
