Why this powerful Anti-aging Homemade Hair Oil?

I have been DIY anti-aging personal care products for a while, ranging from anti-aging serum, lotion, toothpaste, lip balm, clay facial, and exfoliating scrub, to name a few. They completely augmented my look and feel.

I started my “All Natural” journey with DIY toothpaste when I developed an allergic reaction to commercial toothpaste. See here to read more. My homemade toothpaste only uses two ingredients baking soda and organic virgin coconut oil. I am so grateful it gave me a wake-up call and inspired me to go on this sustainable natural remedy journey.

Let me tell you, you do not need to spend an arm & leg to buy anti-aging products. The most powerful and sustainable solution lies in Mother Nature. Lucky for us, there are lots of small businesses that sell these wholesome organic ingredients directly on Amazon at affordable prices.

Realizing hair is an important part of the anti-aging care routine, I have been applying my anti-aging serum on my scalp every night as part of my night routine. My anti-aging serum surely does wonders for my eyes, face, and neck, lifting and rejuvenating including stimulating eyelash growth. Nevertheless, it only does an OK job on my hair.

Then it hit me, the follicles need different types of nutrition, as to the regular skin cells. I started researching what types of nutrition follicles demand and what types of oils contain such nutrients. Here I am so pleased to share with you.

I have been using my homemade hair oil for about one month now. My hair becomes more volumized with a natural glow. It might seem strange to you, but I can feel the hair is in a more calm and happy place. The same feeling after I started using my anti-aging serum.

How to make homemade Hair Oil?

Homemade Hair Oil is a blend of carefully selected carrier oils and essential oils. Thinking carrier oil is the base or bulk of the product, which is either applied directly either by itself 100%, or diluted. Essential oils, on the other hand, are meant to be used as “garnishing” fashion, to highlight additional benefits, but should be used sparingly,

I selected 5 types of carrier oils and 5 types of essential oils for DIY Hair Oil, each with its unique benefits to offer.

Carrier Oils Exceptional for making Hair Oil:

  • Argan Oil – Argan Oil is no stranger to hair care. They are rich in natural phenols that are beneficial to hair follicles. Not only does it promote new hair growth, but also helps you grow healthy, thick-looking hair. By the way, Argan oil is extremely thick, and almost feels like glue.
  • Castor Oil – Castor Oil is perhaps the best organic solution to fight against hair loss and boost hair growth. It has a special taffy acid concentration containing omega-essential fatty acids. Like argan oil, castor oil is also a thick sticky translucent liquid.
  • Amla Oil– Amla, also known as India Gooseberry, is well known for helping boost blood circulation. This helps the follicles better receive the nutrients from the bloodstream.
  • Avocado Oil – Avocado Oil is perhaps one of the most versatile and healthy oils. It is my go-to cooking & baking oil. It also does a wonderful job of nourishing the hair follicles.
  • Jojoba Oil – Jojoba Oil is extremely popular for making skincare products. It has a superb moisturizing effect.

I incorporate both jojoba oil, amla oil, and avocado oil for my anti-aging serum. Castor oil and argan oil would be too heavy for skin care.

Essential Oils Excellent for Homemade Hair Oil:

Rosemary Essential Oil – Rosemary boosts blood circulation for hair follicles, which in turn prevents hair loss.

Lavender Essential Oil – Lavender is a miracle powerful plant and is one of the most widely grown essential oil crops in the world. Its strong antibacterial and antiseptic properties will help keep your scalp healthy and promote healthy hair follicles.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil – Eucalyptus is rich in anti-inflammatory properties, which boosts hair growth.

Lemongrass Essential Oil – Lemongrass is also known for its antibacterial power.

Tea Tree Essential Oil – Tea Tree Essential Oil is well known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial power. I use it regularly to treat fungus on toenails and between toes. For hair, it can help unclog hair follicles and nourish the roots of follicles.
