What is Greek Yogurt Sauce made of?

Organic plain greek yogurt, freshly squeezed cucumber juice, lemon juice, and extra virgin olive oil make up the base of this delicious and healthy yogurt sauce. Cucumber and lemon add an appetizingly refreshing aroma and taste.

A tiny bit of salt and minced garlic is all you need to flavor the sauce. Last but not least is to mix the yogurt sauce with chopped herbs such as dill. When dill is not available, mint works too.

How to make an easy, yummy, and healthy Greek Yogurt Sauce?

Tip No.1 is to use a Mandoline Slicer and cheesecloth to squeeze cucumber juice

A Mandoline Slicer is a very handy gadget in the kitchen to slice cucumber into thin julienne cuts. For freshly squeezed cucumber juice, wrap the cucumber thin julienne slices in a cheesecloth and then squeeze using both hands.

Do not waste the cucumber slices left behind, they taste awesome with the yogurt sauce by itself.

Tip No.2 is to use a compact food processor to mince garlic

A compact food processor is a small kitchen appliance I use almost every day. It is especially instrumental in mincing garlic, which I use a lot in daily cooking, from Mongolian Beef, Szechuan style eggplant stir fry {Di San Xian}, to Italian Dressing.

I usually mince a whole bulb and then store it in this mini 2 oz stainless steel container in the refrigerator to use in the next two weeks. The mini jar has superb airtight abilities which keep the minced garlic fresh for a rather long time.
