Basmati rice, which is long grain, aromatic white rice popular in countries like India, Iran, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, is excellent for making Spanish Rice or any rice side dish. This slender-looking white rice is sometimes also referred to as Persian rice.
Jasmine rice is naturally yummy by itself, but won’t be a good choice to make Spanish Rice. This is because Jasmine rice gets softened easier and may turn into mush during the cooking.
How to Make Spanish Rice at Home?
First Thing First is to Prep the Ingredients
Wash and rinse the rice and let it drain and air dry in a colander. Chop the tomato into small cubes and cilantro small pieces. Mince garlic using a compact food processor.
The second is to stir-fry rice with Tomatoes and Seasonings
Turn the heat to medium-high and heat a 12-inch nonstick frying pan for 1 minute. For making Spanish Rice, you will need a non-stick pan. Then add the olive oil, chopped tomatoes, and white, toss, and turn using a pair of bamboo spatulas. Cook for about 3 minutes, or till tomatoes are softened and rice is slightly browned.

- 4 cups of chicken, vegetable broth, or water
- 1 lime juice
