How to make the perfect flour tortillas at home?
Tip No.1 is to use warm water to make the dough
The warm water is the secret behind the soft and pliable tortillas.
Tip No.2 is to coat the dough with flour and roll it out thinly
Use a dough cutter to cut the dough into portions of about 70 g each using a kitchen scale. Knead the dough between your palms and then organize it into a round disk. Coat the rolling pin with flour and gradually roll the dough out into rounds. Continue to roll in all directions and try to get the round dough sheet as thin as possible.
Tip No.3 is to use a cast iron skillet to grill the flour tortillas
I use this 10.5-inch cast iron griddle almost every day. It is perfect for making flour tortillas.
